A weekend getaway

by - Thursday, June 25, 2015

If you keep up with my blog, you would remember in February I ended up in the E.R due to 'too much caffeine' - - well.. since then I've been suffering horribly with anxiety and although I felt I was getting it under control, the past 3 weeks have been horrible ! Now, it isn't anything in particular that sets it off, which is so scary, but either it would come in random spurts, or eg. If my eye starts to feel funny, my mind jumps to the worst possible thing. It is disgusting to say the least.

The way I felt that day in February shook me so hard, that 'am I dying' feeling was so traumatic that the FEAR is on high alert - if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I do try to control it and I think I do well at it, it is just such a sucky and pathetic thing.

I figured the change in scenery would do well, so Friday morning I headed down to the island home with P to spend the weekend with a few friends.

The weather was..... sucky ! We are now entering our 2nd 'season' because in the Caribbean, we really just have 2. Dry Season and Rainy Season... so hello rainy season ! It rained... nearly all weekend. The hopes of coming home with sunkissed skin was out of the question, and I forgot my hairbrush at home, so you can only imagine the nest that was ontop of my head! Hehe
The house we stay in has a farm at the top of the hill, so how nice it is sometimes to open the back of the kitchen door and see an Emu standing there waiting for food.

Yep... covered in mango !!!
Despite the rain, the weekend was still fun and enjoyable and definitely what I needed !!!

What are your plans for this summer?
Let's chat :)

  1. Louann, I'm sad to hear you have to deal with anxiety issues... I know where you are coming from... I've had the same issue, there is hope you will get passed it... it's not easy but I'm happy to say there is a light at the end of the tunnel... keep working at it ♡♡♡

  2. Oh I have this too...I was in the ER a few months ago for stomach issues that were actually caused by anxiety (basically I was close to an ulcer but not quite there) it's so hard to tell our brains to calm down. I hope things get better. The emu is adorable!

  3. Oh my word yes I remember that post from Feb! I was so worried about you. I don't know if you have St. John's Wart in Caribbean but look out for it, its an incredible natural bottle of drops to help ease anxiety.
I'll be in Indonesia next week! In Philippines right now :) Isn't it dry season here? Confusing season changes around the world!!
