What's New With You

Linking up this Thursday with Gretchen & Kristen for my monthly recap.

What's New With Me

My Being |  I started writing and taking photographs again. I can't tell you how amazing it feels to rekindle with that part of me !

Professional Life | Time for a change is what I keep telling myself. There are so many things I love and good at and I have decided to start making my dream of a goodies company come to reality. Currently been sourcing packaging and the next step is to create a logo. Excited but still keeping it on the d.lo. :)

Greenthumbalina | I've started hoarding herbs! I learned a lot from my Dad always growing Chive and Mint, but I took my love for planting a little too extreme. Chocolate mint, Pineapple mint, Orange mint, Apple mint, Sage, Lemon Balm, Rosemary - ahhhh ! My latest purchase was quite different. My very first Sunflower!

Inspiration | Rereading the works of  Pablo Neruda always stirs up my creative and inspiring soul. Always. Hands down, I think he would have truly been a man who knew how to love a woman in her raw and uncovered nature.

Four Eyes | Rocking my black frames to see if it helps with my headaches, tho somedays I just want it off my face.

Joy of Celebration | Dad's birthday was on the 15th and it was the saddest one yet. It is tough not having him here. There was a huge heaviness weighing on my heart and shoulders that day. For the downs there are ups - like my Brother's marriage which was the week after and a few days after that was Mom's birthday. Celebrating life, past, present and future.

What have you been up to?

  2. Good for you for chasing your dream- wishing you the best of luck!

And I've got a green thumb, too! Love filling pots with pretty flowers every spring and summer- my patio and porch is totally overflowing, but I dig it!

  3. That's awesome you are growing herbs! I would love too, but my green thumb isn't so green. I have been wearing my glasses a lot more at night because my eyes have been bothering me, too. The joys of having poor eyesight!

  5. I am a total plant killer. Completely! It is just tragic. We are so on the same page with our transition phase professionally. But I love that you are so close to striking out on your own! That is fantastic!

  8. I don't grow any herbs, but the tenant who lived in our apartment previously planted mint and now it sprouts up like crazy everywhere! It smells nice, although I don't really have a use for it.

  9. It's always so lovely to spend time doing things you love but often "don't have time" for. I absolutely agree. That's how I felt about starting up reading again about a year ago. Making it more of a priority this year has really helped me in self care and creativity. Congratulations on taking steps toward your own business. I started mine last April, and am taking it slow, but finding it very rewarding so far. :) I wish I had a green thumb, these herbs sound lovely! I did find a pinterest DIY to build a planter rack high on the window to keep away kids and pets though. Our kittens are definitely a deterrent from keeping plants alive! haha Being without family is always quite difficult. I'm so sorry and I can empathize. I spent my second birthday away from mine after they moved across the US. It was a very sad time for me, I'm still not used to them being away. XO - Alexandra

  10. I'm sorry about your dad. My dad just passed away in March, and his birthday and my parents' anniversary were in February, so we haven't hit any of those hard days yet. But I know the holidays and those days will be really hard.

I'm glad you're following your dream! I'm still trying to figure out what mine is... Ha!

  15. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. Mine passed away last year, so I've got lots of this sadness yet to come. I'm glad to hear you had happiness amongst it though, that seems to be the only way it can be. It's never going to not be sad.

Starting your own company sounds super exciting though! I've always wanted to do that but have never been brave enough. Or self disciplined enough! I'm impressed, keep us updated on how you're going :)
